The Flower Kings to Release New DVD This Spring

A new DVD by The Flower Kings is currently in the works. The DVD has been dubbed an official bootleg and will feature the show that was recorded at De Boerderij in Zoetermeer (The Netherlands) on November 17th, 2007.

The show was filmed with six cameras and will be released in widescreen format. Roine Stolt — guitar player, writer and producer of the band — mixed the audio for the DVD. Considering that Roine Stolt mixed the other two DVD releases as well, the new DVD is probably going to sound brilliant.

This DVD release is going to be very cool for a couple of reasons. The most important one is that Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mr. Mister) was special guest on this tour and filled the drum spot. He did an amazing job during this concert with his drumming style and took the band musically and visually to a whole new level. (I was in the audience during the show so I know what I am talking about! 🙂 )

Secondly, this DVD contains a lot of material from their last studio album “The Sum of No Evil”. Although I did not like this album as much as previous albums, the songs sounded much and much better live, with “Love Is the Only Answer” and “Live in Motion” as incredible highlights of the show.
